Fig (or Feijoa) Salsa Recipe

We were lucky enough to have a pastry chef working with us over the previous fig harvest. This meant we were treated to many different delicious things over our weekly staff lunches! 

One of which was this most incredible Fig (and Feijoa) Salsa. We paired it with tortilla chips from Proper Crisps but I imagine it would be equally delicious alongside fish or chicken or as part of an Autumn feast! 

The recipe is below. Go on, give it a try! 

Fig (or Feijoa) Salsa Recipe - makes ~1 bowl

 

  • 4x fresh figs (or feijoas)
  • 2 tomatoes, seeds removed
  • 1 spring onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Handful parsely/coriander
  • 2 Tbspn olive oil
  • Juice 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste 

  1. Finely chop/dice all of the ingredients.
  2. Mix together. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  3. Garnish with extra fresh figs, feijoas or microgreens
  4. Serve!
